When catch & releasing your Spinney, "Dream Stream", 11mile, or Taryall trophy lunker fish 1) take your own digital picture, 2) send it via e-mail to Rob@ChaparralParkGeneralStore.com, & 3) we will post your picture in our online "Photo Gallery". Also when you catch your take home trophy of 20" inches or longer at Spinney (closed till spring 2008), Antero, 11 mile, or Taryall come to Chaparral Park General Store were we will measure, weigh, take your picture, & post it in our online "Photo Gallery" for bragging rights on the world wide web to show your friends & family that your fish story was really true.

Spinney Reservoir:
Current Spinney (Aurora Owned) Water Levels
Fishing Report: Tazs, Needlefish and Flat fish for trout. Tazs, Tubes, Rapalas and Spinner Baits for pike.
Fly fishing is seeing the best results with Callibaetis, Damsels, Prince Nymphs, Hares Ears and Scuds. Some nice browns have been caught this week along with plenty of big pike. Remember if you are bringing your boat that you will be inspected for zebra mussels before entering the park and boating is allowed from 1/2 hour before sunrise until 1/2 hour after sunset. Take a few minutes before leaving home to do a spot check yourself to save you the time of driving here and finding out you have some on your boat or trailer. The best remedy is to use a high pressure hose every time you have your boat in water to clean it off before heading home again. Also it is a good idea to spray those waders with a 50% bleach solution just in case you pick up any hitchhikers in the reservoir or the rivers.
Spinney/ Flies & Lure Only Waters Regulations can be reviewed on the Colorado Division Of Wildlife web site. No scented plastics or lures State Park Rangers will be proactively checking and artificial flies and lures ONLY.

2 mile section of river between Spinney & Eleven mile ReservoirsFishing Report: Tricos, Green Machines, PMD's and Caddis Pupa are doing well. The browns are beginning to make a move into the river so plan for some great action early in the day and after 6pm. Fishing Report: Big fish being caught at Lazy Boy and Witchers Cove on Nightcrawlers and marshmallows. Power bait and flies have also proven very successful. Not as many large Pike being reported but that doesn't mean they aren't being caught, use Tazs and Rapalas if you are boating and sucker meat or Rapalas from the shore near Cross Creek and in the small coves in Backcountry. Boating is allowed from 1/2 hour before sunrise until 1/2 hour after sunset.
